The Disability Liaison Service at The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) can help support people with disability, their families and carers to use hospital services and access the care and treatment they need. The Disability Liaison Service should be contacted if patients are experiencing barriers to accessing healthcare due to their disability.

What Disability Liaison Officers do

• Support people with a disability, their families and carers to access healthcare and services at the RCH
  
• Work with your health care teams to understand your specific needs and provide safer, accessible and more inclusive care during your hospital stay and outpatient clinic appointments
• Support to access services at other hospitals, healthcare providers and organisations where barriers exist, including advice regarding the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
